Sparrow

There is a sparrow sitting on our railing, watching a storm roll in. He reminds me it is ok to sit and watch what unfolds, instead of rushing and reacting and thinking later. My favorite bird call in the mourning dove. As a child, I thought it was "morning dove" because I heard them early in the morning from my bedroom window. If I looked out, I would see Mom setting the hose on the grass in the front yard. Those were the days  you could run outside in your pajamas and no one scolded you.

Today I am a doctor. This afternoon is my mother-in law's birthday. Her daughters are here, managing to hit Father's Day and the birthday in one visit. Good planning! I will try to slip away from clinic for the party. We'll see. I never make promises, and those who are used to me know I bounce from one responsibility to another in order of Emergency, necessity, and fun, with two and three jostling back and forth for position.

I borrowed a "design wall" from the quilt shop so I can see the progress as I go. Some of the steps are tricky, and if you get a piece upside down, it shows. So far so good.

Wishing you rainbows after your storms and more fun than necessities.
